Don't miss out on a unique candy culture

Easter

Easter eggs in Iceland are huge and filled with Icelandic candy. They can be bought in any store, I recommend Bónus as they have the best prices.

Christmas time

Nóa Konfekt is an Icelandic stable that can not be beaten. This delicacy is only produced and sold before and around the holiday time and is as essential as a Christmas tree. It comes in a few varying boxes that make a beautiful and delicious gift.

Bland í Poka - Candy Day 50% Off!

On Saturdays, kids and adults buy a big bag of candy. Then spend the evening gorging while watching a movie. The candy is sold in supermarkets and you scoop whatever you want in a bag and then weigh it. It's extremely good, there is a huge variety and it's super cheap because on Saturdays it's 50% off!

Not all the candy is Icelandic though, a lot of it is imported. However, I do advise you to swing by one of these stores and fill up a bag, you won't regret it. This is a true Icelandic experience that most tourists will never hear about.
